Prayers for 16 August 2020
Welcome – to all who are joining us today.
Prayer from your heart to God’s heart:
(Oral Roberts, Prayers for seed-faith living, Tulsa, OK., USA, 49.)
“Father, I am grateful for Jesus…I am more than grateful; I am in love with Jesus. He is everything to me. He is my Life, my Way, my Truth, the Source of my being. And I pray that I shall be like Him.
Jesus, fill my life today…with Your healing presence…Your power…and the force of Your Spirit and personality.
Let the artist of eternity paint a picture of You that I may know You better. May I look upon You! Feel You! Receive You! And encounter YOU in this moment of my existence. I earnestly pray and I believe, Amen.”
Prayer after sermon (Iris Marais)
Gracious Lord Jesus,
We thank you for your light that shines in all the dark and painful corners of our lives. Your light heals our past traumas, it reveals the new and refreshing future that you have for us and it brings wisdom on the paths of our lives. We commit ourselves anew today and ask that your light will search our hearts and direct us in the way you want us to go. In Jesus name, Amen.
Prayers of Intercession

Gracious Heavenly Father,
We thank you that we can come to you when we are feeling vulnerable or afraid. We find ourselves in uncertain times and this has caused tremendous anxiety and fear across our world.
In this moment of silence Lord Jesus, we bring to you the name of any person or family who needs your intervention at this time…
Almighty God, we also bring to you all the COVID19 frontline workers in schools, hospitals and aged care facilities and ask for your powerful protection as they carry out their duties. We pray that you will inspire and direct world leaders to make responsible decisions imbued in your wisdom as they lead their nations through this time of global crisis.
We ask for your comfort and gentle involvement in the hearts of young children or others who cannot fully comprehend what is happening in our world at this time. Be pray you will please be their light and bring peace to their hearts and minds.
We dedicate ourselves into your hands too and ask you help us to place our full trust in you. In Jesus name, Amen.
